About Charles Webster

Charles Webster is a former journalist – now full-time corporate writer whose work in wordsmithing supports a wider set of creative and intellectual interests. Born in Argentina and raised in Johannesburg, he has been based in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands since December 2007.

Alongside his writing career, he is a student of philosophy, a guitarist since the age of 11, and a vocalist known for a resonant baritone delivery. His musical style draws on fingerstyle acoustic guitar and a broad range of influences spanning Beethoven to Led Zeppelin, with an approach that moves between folk, rock, pop, and light jazz. He is also known for performing as a soulful balladeer in both original and interpretive material.

Beyond music and writing, his personal interests include whisky (on the rocks) and lemon meringue pie. He is a founder of Music in The Hills (MiTH), and is active in tribute shows, upmarket private functions, music promotion and an expanding portfolio of his own original work in the KZN Midlands music scene.
